Um, if I recall from the last Soiree, there is/was a limit to how many can gather around one raging permitted fire or something like that, so we may need to get creative on who shows up for which shift so it at least looks like we are not all there at the same time.

Official story (which happens to be true): I have a student who is trying out for All State chorus on the 11th, and in order for him to audition I am required to adjudicate all freakin' day Saturday. Bleh.

But, honestly, I don't think my body is up for a road trip right now. All I want is to crash on the couch for about 6 weeks.

Even so, I really really really really really really miss the beach...

I'm really dreading it. Choral people are crazy (my apologies to any choral persons out there...) and I've never done this. I can't even get someone to tell me when I'm supposed to be there--they have all these rules and requirements, and they're either kept secret or put in some kind of chorus code that nobody can understand.

But the happy news is that I ran into a chorus teacher here in town tonight that I know pretty well, and she said, "Hey! Isn't it great that we're judging together Saturday?" I was so happy that I hugged her on the spot. (Keep in mind I'm on some pretty serious happy drugs...) At least now I don't have to worry about that part of it.
