A Picture says it All

We send friends and visitors to this board, and I would be horrified if they saw threads like this and the "Obama is a gangsta rapper" or whatever the heck that other dumb thread was about- I don't understand defending material like this- it has no purpose other than to perpetuate a racial stereotype. While there may be some regular posters that think it is a hoot, I bet there is a very silent and invisible group that gasped like I did. I am proud to say that this sort of "humor" doesn't get laughs at our house.
It perpetuates a stereotype that's for sure, and it's not a good one that draws people to our area.

Canoehead is only a Sowal member because I made her join to prove that people did really write and believe such dumb things. Stuff like that just isn't said in her world.

I am certainly not saying that I have never said anything negative about Bush or Palin or other public/political figures (as we all know that is false) but there is a level to which we do not need to go. And that level is what we are unfortunately seeing more and more of.

Sorry Lucifer....you aren't one of a kind...you have a "wanna be" Lucifer called Poppy.

I would like to request that you stop complementing me.

I think calling the poster racist is beyond the pale. These photoshopped pictures are all over the place and I don't think they are taken seriously by most people. You just look, react then move on and forget it.

Lots of them are funny. I love the Purple Pimp Suit Bush picture. It's so silly and makes me laugh. It is not serious. But calling someone racist is very serious indeed. You should apologize.

She posted it because it was the POTUS in a stereotyped portrayal of black men and what's worse she was to lazy to fact check the photo before posting or more than likely consciously chose to remain ignorant.

 I was thinking of something similar going the other way. All she did was brighten my day. :D

I think there is more than a "trinity" in here. There's a whole gang of goofballs, and we love ya'll! Keep it up!
