A Picture says it All

I believe with the chimpanzee comparison, someone here, I think hnooe, stated that there is a certain cute factor to the chimp and Bush comparison. It makes you laugh. Here, again, it's funny with Bush portrayed as a pimp. (The purple is especially hysterical.)

I think there are sensitivities here because (I think) pimps are usually black? However, Presidents are sitting ducks for criticism, cut downs and humorous portrayals. Obama Camp should completely understand this. What I find unequivocably, utterly disgusting is the way Mrs. Obama is portrayed in this obviously photoshopped picture. Mr. Obama in the picture is comical, however.

Photos like this are IQ tests. If you think they are real and post them it means you failed.

Gee thanks Lucifer...I guess you are now calling me stupid! We all can't be like you... all knowing, all right, all rude, and all nasty! You are truly one of a kind!

Sorry Lucifer....you aren't one of a kind...you have a "wanna be" Lucifer called Poppy.

I happen to think Lucifer and Poppy both rock--throw in Bob, and you have the Sowal Holy Trinity, in my opinion.

Personally I'm not a fan of caricatures like this. I think it's disrespectful. If you disagree with the views of an administration you can voice those criticisms with words, not derogatory images.

But the left has no soapbox to stand on. President Bush, his wife, his daughters, members of his administration have all been subjected to this kind of treatment which was apparently considered acceptable, even funny, just a few years ago. Today you get righteous indignation from the left over stuff this, in the past, we'd get jokes and laughter icons. The double standard is lost on a lot of folks. Hence my point in posting.

The argument in this particular case is that this is unacceptable because it uses some sort of racial stereotype. Unfortunately, again, the left has little principal to stand on, as a search of google images for "condoleezza rice" will show.

One argument I can come up with here against this kind of criticism would be, simply, to try and avoid sinking to that level. But this stuff is going to show up, and I certainly don't think the left has any business chastising people for it. They set the standard.

Yes, I agree. I wonder if anyone from the left can or will concur.

They were around but were they posted on SoWal? If so it was wrong.

I think calling the poster racist is beyond the pale. These photoshopped pictures are all over the place and I don't think they are taken seriously by most people. You just look, react then move on and forget it.

Lots of them are funny. I love the Purple Pimp Suit Bush picture. It's so silly and makes me laugh. It is not serious. But calling someone racist is very serious indeed. You should apologize.

Haha he said racist! That horse is long dead. Play a new card.

I was curious about what the answer to this would be, so I did a few advanced searches from 'one year ago & older' regarding former President Bush. I was quite shocked at what had been posted by the very same members who are now upset and complaining about the current posts that are not in favor with the current Administration. Endless vile threads for Bush/Cheney. The polarization is palpable.

Yes and these same people are on another thread complaining about all the mean posts at SoWal and can't we all just get along. They can dish it out but can't take it in.
