Thanks to organicmama for easing my official entry into sowal society, and for being connected enough to wrangle us a parking space. What a nice way to spend a beautiful fall evening at the beach. I'm just sorry we arrived too late to catch the sharks.

HO. LEE. SHEEEEEEEEEIT. Don't go there, sistah. :nono1: Those people are nucking futz. I would tell you all about it, but I don't think I need to take Xanax with my Lyrica.

But I would appreciate a large delivery of pudding shots right now. I just got off the phone with a student's mama. I like mamas. I like parents. I've always liked parents and have gotten along with them beautifully.

I don't have the wherewithal to discuss this right now, either (A.D.D. break: I'm very excited that "wherewithal" made it past my spell checker!) but I just got off the phone with a CRAZY mama. She ended up calling my voicemail back to tell me that she was calling the po-po... When I called my boss, he said not to worry about it. The police has been to the school before. (I love my bosses.)

All this to say that I shoulda gone to the beach this weekend. I love you peeps.

Yay! I am the first to post after actually being there.
Met many incredible people. Shark cruising the beach for an hour. Grayt fire!
Shelly was a no-show. Grrr...so was Smiling Joe, both of whom I was looking forward to meeting.
I wish my brain could remember all who I met. I'll try:

Miss Kitty, Sunspotbaby, Riverotter, Aleonard, Hop, Uncle Timmy, Bobby J, DD, Franny, IBD, Kitlit, Romeosmydog. I am sure I missed a few and I apologize. My brain just doesn't save those particular cells.
Saw BB, but she must have been busy early and then I never saw her again. Wanted to thank her for putting this all together.

Just wait until he reads that he was here.

 

[Beach Runner]

We so enjoyed seeing people we already knew plus meeting some new faces. What a great bunch of people, all interesting in their own way!

The beach was heavenly beautiful. It was delightful to see Bobby J casting his net and his children getting so excited about the little fishies. And the sunset was absolutely gorgeous.

Sorry we left early and missed seeing some of you, but couldn't miss kickoff of the Gator game.

I fell asleep in the bathtub and couldn't make the opening, and just drove to Grayton a bit ago but drove right back out, it is a mad house. Hope y'all are having fun.

eldodo - we missed you! but at least I got to see you earlier at the book signing.

however... the skunky and punzy were both mia last night - don't think they have ever missed a soiree - you were both missed - and we did talk about you and decided we would have to give you hail!;-)

Mr. Kitty attempted to escape under the cover of darkness from Miss Kitty and me on the way out, but she caught him

every soiree is different and this one was as special as ever. the evening started with the finest weather and a spectacular sunset and progressed into a perfect night with so many wonderful old and new friends. Shaken did not disappoint - the pudding shots were awesome. I love that we also have non-posting sowallers (they aren't even lurkers) who always join us at the soiree (we give them sowal names anyway - you can't arrive at the soiree with a normal name like "carol" - just does not work).

I feel blessed to know this group of folks. loved seeing every single friend.
