Florida TaxWatch is out with a report that compares how much people in each county pay in taxes each year.

Statewide, state and local governments collect nearly $2,400 in property taxes per person.

Walton County is one of 16 counties where property taxes are higher than that statewide average. Collecting more than $4,800 per person.

Walton is 2nd HIGHEST in Per Capita Total but 2nd LOWEST in Millage Rates

Must be a function of super high assessed values?!?

Yes. Stupid and misleading. Millage rate is one of the lowest at less than 1%.
