The crystal ball says the first time this type of coordinated attack happens in the U.S. whoever is President will do more than what Obama is proposing.
This type of attack probably will happen, but I doubt whoever is President won't invade the wrong country, while breaking the bank with tax cuts. 911 was not Bush's fault, but his knee jerk reaction that put this country into two wars resulting in no benefits to the US is on him.

It's time to change the status quo. Obama was saying ISIS was contained just last week. I seem to remember him calling ISIS the junior varsity. He is and has been in reactive mode the entire time here.

An average of 30 plus people are murdered each day in the US by guns and people want to send troops into harms way because they are suddenly afraid a foreigner might come here and shoot them. Are domestic bullets less painful than terrorists bullets? Are you any less dead?

you are deflecting, no one said this is the only issue we face. This is where Obama leads...http://news.yahoo.com/obama-pledges-more-100-million-towards-girls-women-182148027.html....in foreign affairs he is perceived as weak. His last press conference he became defensive with the press because he is doing little. Our air campaign against ISIS is laughable.

I predict Obama will hand this mess off to his successor and never look back until it's time to sanitize his version of events writing a book ala Cheney.

Not deflecting, just offering a perspective on irrational fear. My frustration is with knee jerk reactions costing American service members lives. Why would sending troops work out any differently this time? War is expensive and ISIS or ISIL or whatever they are called are being financed by someone or some state. Follow the money and go after them. The Saudis fingerprints were all over 911 including most of the hi-jackers being Saudis and nothing was done.

I don't think the US should be the pricipal actor in this fight. If the locals can't achieve stability, then we're just going to keep returning again and again. We're different than France in many ways too. Compare what happens when you draw Muhammed in France to what happens when you draw him in Texas.

They are self financing through abduction, stolen art, tribute payments for protection, taxation, oil, slavery. They are very, very well financed from within. I am proposing that a coalition of NATO or the U.N. is ultimately the best way to deal with this mafia like group that is now active in several countries. There's no knee jerk about it. It's a horrible situation. We can wait like Roosevelt for it to come to us, or we can be proactive and lead. Nobody wants any of this, but you cannot ignore the problem anymore. It's front and center. Obama has rarely acknowledged the religious component to this. I seem to remember NATO literally begged Clinton to bomb Serbia into submission. Someone needs to step up, before some more idiots start randomly attacking here. I don't see another solution other than the current reactive hand wringing. We can do far more to make the ground they stand on untenable. And yes, we don't need to follow the GW blueprint. This is a perfect opportunity for Obama to start moving in a positive direction through leadership. What the President is doing is not enough.

We have been proactive, sounds like you just want our troops more active. I agree with LOTB, it is going to be war on endless war. We will be attacked sometime in the future for sure but let's hope like hell America doesn't freak out like Lindsey Graham and start screaming "they're gonna kill us all!"

Why does America always need to be the country to take the most risk when the world goes to s**t? When you have a political party that doesn't want to feed the hungry or house the homeless, is against universal healthcare for it's citizens, wants to deny equal pay for women and marriage for gays, supports a single religion, shames the poor, is against a minimum living wage, and is eager to continue policies that increase income inequality, you begin to question just what the hell a service member is fighting for.
