Traffic light at Hwy 98 & 83

New posts
I thought the DOT said that there was no chance of it becoming permanent. When did that change and how much are we paying for THAT?

Sorry I don't remember the exact details but as I recall the county saves money by going ahead early with it.

This intersection has been dangerous for quite some time. The traffic count is very high as is the probability of what we saw happen in recent weeks. I live in BMB and have been turning right to make the U for several years after having a near death experience. IMHO all of our feeder roads deserve and warrant a traffic signal. I just wanna live...

The DOT won't approve one there permanently.

Let's hope that they don't.

I wish the one at S. Geronimo in Miramar Beach was not there. It's not in sync and east bound traffic stacks up in the curve, right about when cars get going good. Expect rear end collisions in the warmer months..:(

You must not live near there. That light has been needed for years. East Bound stacked up in the curve before the light. I attended the meeting where the fire chief of the Geronimo station practically begged for the light to aid in response time. That intersection is much safer now because of the light.

@ Poppaj, I drive through that curve every couple of days or so. I can understand the fire chief's concern and need to be able to go west on 98, but the installation of the light will slow down traffic flow on 98.

Let's revisit, in mid July, my prediction of more rear end collisions in the east bound lane of 98 in the area of Gold's Gym/Fat Clemezas, a stretch of 98 where there have not been any rear end collisions.
