From the nasa.gov site:

"In about a week, after undergoing preparations at Edwards, Discovery will be ferried back to NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Fla., atop a modified Boeing-747 aircraft."

Expect they'll have more detail later. Then again, might not publish exact schedule (where/when) to avoid making it more of a target for baddies.

Y'all know that once in a great while, the plane that transports the shuttle from California back to Kennedy SC will make a refeuling stop at Eglin. Not every trip, but there have been times people have seen them taking off over Choctawhatchee Bay from the twin cities area.

I saw the shuttle being transported over Destin once. Although don't remember which one - I must of killed that brain cell. Or maybe I was just drinking when I thought I saw it!

I find it amazing they can fly like this. It just doesn't look right to me.

I thought this was how they made baby shuttles.
