So, it stopped raining. I walked outside with Molly. Decided to pull up the ugly and detested lamb's ear plant. Bees were living there. They swarmed me. I did the dumb thing and ran, screaming for Molly to come. Got stung twice on my ankle. Ran inside and slammed the door. They were hitting the glass after me. I sat down to look at my ankle. Got bit by a stray on my bottom. Found it and killed it. Gosh I am in pain.

i had a battle with bees yesterday too. i was wielding my trusty raid wasp and hornet spray - and alas i was the victor !!!

Kitty, did you wash the area you were stung with soap and water? Then apply meat tenderizer if you have it. Yikes, not sure what to do other than a spray to kill them. I have recently become allergic to bees so they scare me to death. The last time I was stung my arm swelled up twice it's size.

I thought you were supposed to pop a Benedryl for bee stings. Though I do like that planter's punch solution a little better. ;-)

Speaking of bug bites, Alex just walked in asking where the nail polish is kept. I asked What do YOU want nail polish for??? He said You'll see.

So he comes back with his ankles covered with nail polish blobs. Chigger bites! I told him I never heard of the nail polish cure and he told me that's because I'm too old and never went to camp.

there used to be a product called chig-a-rid to put on chigger bites that was just clear fingernail polish.

...that is awful and so scary! Yes, I did follow the directions I found online. I scrapped the bites with a credit card, washed the sites and applied a sting stick that had ammonia in it and took some Advil and a Zyrtec. I am now sitting on a cold compress. I just had a thought...what if my bottom swelled like your arm?

Zyrtec is an antihistimine like benedryl but it'll last longer.

OMG, that is so disgusting. Alex looks so cute with hot pink ankles.

I thought you would have given him clear.

Hope you are better...that is too scary! Benadryl or any other antihistamine works well with bee stings. It should keep away the swelling. As a child, my mother would put wet tobacco (from a cigarette) on my stings to lessen the pain. As I remember, it worked.
