Shag carpet ... that's really funny But it's a sexual thing which should transcend time. So I'm asking, why was body hair sexy then and gross now?

I understand the Monica factor in people's "tastes.";-)

Clean shaven seems to be the "sign of the times" for both men & women. ;-)

Like I would even know. It seems that I'm completely asexual...

But by "body hair," you're talking about hairy chests, right? I can't imagine thinking that hairy backs and shoulders were attractive, even in the 70s--?

Hairy chests and backs. The women in "You Only Live Twice" were certainly getting off on Sean Connery's body hair. That doesn't float my boat -- my hubby's got worn off from years of being an athlete and being taped, and that's the way (uh huh) I like it.
