"Escambia County Commissioner Grover Robinson apparently was confident enough with progress of the negotiations to tell a Pensacola radio talk show host Monday that Adkinson’s contract termination letter had been withdrawn.

“That information is incorrect,” Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Corey Dobridnia said in an email.

The contract termination has been suspended, not rescinded, Dobridnia said. Also, a moratorium on Escambia County shipping new inmates to Walton County remains in place."

@John G I'm not as critical of the Sheriff as you have been but I will speak out when I think something stinks to high heaven.

The Sheriff was all over this story on the WCSO Facebook page but has completely distanced himself from the near decapitation of the woman murdered in Defuniak and what was known by the WCSO and the PD about the murderer.

The "rumor" around town is the PD is handling the investigation but the TRUTH is WCSO entered the home and found the victim laying on the floor in a pool of blood who had been dead since Sunday afternoon. Monday night when the body was discovered, the crime scene looked like a parking lot of WCSO vehicles. I saw it myself and not one word from the "Media Mogul" Mike Adkinson!

Why?

My guess, to much heat and criticism from the public on his Facebook page over this woman's fear and concern for her safety and what was and wasn't known by both WCSO and the PD about the killer and why they failed to protect her given what they knew about the murderer!! Can't have that squeaky clean image taking any heat over their failures.

Its not always honey and spice and all things nice unless he's the hero.

The story you posted did make Mike's page the murder has not.
