And you proved my point. The parties are full of the same crooks and you have fallen for their game of divide and conquer.

Not at all. It isn't divide and conquer, it is a matter of a legitimate debate. The government doesn't seem to make decisions, a person, or party does, hence the division. This is broad sweeping change and a President doesn't not have the right to mandate this change. Debate the issue, send it to the Supreme Court, legitimize it.Bush and Obama have been the worst Presidents for using their damn pens for whatever their personal agendas are, or were. So as an intelligent electorate we need to say stop. If I were Governor of one of the ten or eleven states suing the Obama administration, I would be suing not because I didn't believe in the necessity of the law, but because the President does not have the legal right to mandate this change. I do agree with the law BTW, but there is a way to implement it without creating a HUGE division with the people.

The law is also based on what people "identify" with. Who in the hell can determine what that is? How is identification governed?

I don't understand the lawsuit angle. How will they prove harm?

Is it a mandate or just guidance?

Countries all over have a legal process where transgender people can change their name and gender and birth certificate. It's really not new nor is it a threat. Sorry they need to go through a legal process to become who they are. But at least it gets them the human rights they deserve just like anyone else.

Teresa, I don't care what ADULTS nip, tuck, cut, implant, surgically enhance or take male/female hormones to reproduce what they weren't given naturally at birth and I actually agree that adults can be whoever they want to be by any means necessary and have every right to be treated humanely regardless of what image they recreate for themselves.

However, since children are the issue in my opinion (at least it's why I started the thread) and children (those under the age of 18) can't even legally go through that process and there are no ethical physicians who would even consider that for a minor child, I still do not want to see anatomically correct boys in the bathroom with little girls.

An educated population is one that would not allow the hijacking of our country by the people and corporations with money. An ignorant population is easily misdirected towards nonsense.
like the Iraq war, right?

Transgender does not equal surgery (though some adults do undergo some type) and it really doesn't have an age limit. It's a very small number of the population but larger than we think. Should remain a non issue with no laws dictating where they must pee or not. However, if States are passing laws making it ok to discriminate against this tiny segment of people, even in schools, then it does become an issue. Not an easy one to deal with. I don't know why States don't have better things to do than to pass bathroom laws. Including cities like Charlotte which tried to pass a law making it legal for transgender people to use the damn bathroom.. It's a good intent but bad idea at least right now. They know where they belong, one way or the other, and we've been in bathrooms with them all our lives.

Children are the least to care or freak out or make an issue out of nothing. It's the parents who are being told to freak. Over what? Dumb. Dumb dumb.

Bottom line. Leave the kids alone. Leave the adults alone. No stupid bathroom laws. Too many people take it to the gutter in their minds and bring in molestation and predators. Totally and completely unrelated. And unfair.

I agree that people are going to gravitate toward the gutter when discussing this issue.

My bottom line as a parent and now as a grand parent is the possibility of some child being exposed to the body parts of the opposite sex long before they ought to be or choose to be. This is a choice I believe should be left to the parents of the child, not society.

We have several local families who's girls are still wearing dresses to their ankles and bonnets on their heads. That's their choice and they need to be left alone as they are. Government should not be forcing otherwise.

The only governments forcing anything are local ones. The Federal Government is saying let people pee where they feel they belong. You know, just like they have been doing.

I like the trend. When you gotta go, you gotta go. If a woman has to go really bad, and all that's available is the men's room pee trough, then have at it sweetie! And if she's got a dick, that just makes it easier for her.
