Here's a fun fact that may or may not win you a bar bet. Orlando had about 17.5 inches of rain for June. Assuming the average lot size at 1/4 acre, that works out to 119,700 gallons of water on each lawn this past month!

And I bet there were plenty of sprinklers going. :(

Yes, there were. Standard procedure for most homeowners with new sprinkler sysytems is to disconnect the rain sensor after initial inspection. The city waters the road medians and parks even now between 5-6 in the morning. Even though thay use reclaimed water, it's not needed.

I think we must have gotten 17 inches of rain just in the last two days.

Is this the third rainy year y'all have had? I remember hearing about a lot of rain last year, and it was rainy the summer before that. What's going on?

Could it be considered wasteful to dump out a cooler of ice when the party is over instead of waiting for it to melt so it can be filtered and used for drinking water?

water shortages are really bad, we've had about all the rain we can handle this month, we are drowning here in big MO.
