Favorite Road Stops on the Way to the Beach?

No matter if you're coming from points North, South, East or West, what's your best place for a road break?

Ours is:

Annie's Restaurant on Rte. 331 in Luverne, Alabama

It's Southern barbeque and traditional sides like green beans, hushpuppies, and cole slaw. The restaurant has a big yellow sign out front, and they start advertizing for it about 50 miles out, it seems! By the time you get there you're already starving for their ribs. They are soooooooooo good! Definitely worth the stop on the way to the beach.

Ohh good post. What's that BBQ joint that is right off the Georgiana exit...in the Chevron parking lot. My dad always makes us stop there. Soo good.

We also have a tradition to buy BBQ in Luverne--on the East side of 331--guess it is the same place.

Peach Park in or around Clanton, AL. More of a stop coming home, in too much of a hurry going down.

We stop there every trip down, my son calls it the butt peach, because the big peach looks just like a butt!!! They have the best peaches and veggies!!!! We take the peaches down with us and make these wonderful peach fruity frothy drinks with rum...YUM!!!

With only a 6-7 hour drive, we usually don't stop other than for fast food in Montgomery. We want to get to SoWal or back home quick. We may need to stop at Annie's now that I have heard how good it it and I love BBQ!!!

We have seen the sign and passed it 100s of times but never stopped. We do not know what we are missing. We will try it this time around in November when we come down. Thanks for the info on it. :clap_1:
