Google these for more info. Just reading the summaries can be entertaining. These movies are mostly dark and disturbing and are likely to make you feel depressed and lucky at the same time.

Requiem For a Dream (Jared Leto, Jennifer Connely)

Highway (Jake Gyllenhall, Jared Leto)

Trainspotting (Ewan McGregor)

Spun (Mickey Rourke, Brittany Murphy)

Less Than Zero (Andrew McCarthy, Robert Downey, Jr.)

Barfly (Mickey Rourke, Faye Dunaway)

Drugstore Cowboy (Matt Dillon, Kelly Lynch)

Another Day in Paradise (James Woods, Mealnie Griffith)

Pulp Fiction?

Don't forget Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

I thought Spun was hilarious. Creepy, but hilarious.

Goodfellas is one of my all time favorites - would you consider that a drug movie?

I'm embarrassed to say that I've seen all of these except Spun. Requiem for a Dream was good and so was the book. And yes, they're all depressing. The toilet scene in Trainspotting still haunts me to this day.

I guess I tend toward the lesser known ones. Obvious ones are Traffic, Goodfellas, Scarface, King Of New York, Easy Rider, Sid and Nancy, Midnight Express, Pulp Fiction.

But Sid & Nancy was so good.

Vanishing Point.
(sort of. and not the remake, the original.)

Everyone should see that one - Oldman was great.

Reminds me - "Basquiat". I've seen it a dozen times.
"Sid and Nancy" is a classic!
Oh, I've heard such great things about "Basquiat" but still haven't seen it!

Gary Oldman is one of my favorite actors.

For laughs, Reefer Madness is always good, as is Up In Smoke.
Favorite pot movie: Dazed and Confused.

There's also The Salton Sea. If you already don't realize just how bad meth is, you certainly will after seeing this cautionary tale.

One drug movie which for me, really has not stood the test of time:
Easy Rider.
