I have a custom made, solid mahogany queen bed; completely hand carved with mythical figures. The bed was made without the use of nails or screws. Included are 4 large carved posts, mahogany paneled and carved canopy, carved frame and base, and large, carved headboard.
The design is copied from a bed made circa 1580, by Hans Vredeman de Vries, a Dutch Renaissance architect, painter, and engineer. I have the article, with pictures, describing the original bed and others of that style, made between 1500-1630.
