Over the last two years, the City of Freeport, Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County and the Anchored in Freeport Committee have been working hard to make Anchored in Freeport Art in Public Spaces Project a reality. We're so excited to be kicking off the Hammock Bay Festival of Lights Celebration on Saturday at 2 p.m. with a dedication ceremony for the Windmills Anchor and invite the community to tour and view all 8 anchors. The details are below if you'd like to join us.

WHAT: Anchored in Freeport – Art in Public Spaces Dedication Ceremony Kicks Off the Festival of Lights at Hammock Bay

WHERE: The Windmills at Hammock Bay (near Prop’s Brewery)

WHEN: Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025 at 2 p.m.

ABOUT: We’re kicking off the 2025 Festival of Lights at The Windmills at Hammock Bay with a dedication ceremony celebrating the installation of the first eight artist decorated concrete anchors throughout the city of Freeport. The Windmills Anchor is the first of eight Inaugural anchors as part of the Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County's Art in Public Spaces Program in partnership with the City of Freeport. The dedication will include a ribbon cutting at The Windmills at Hammock Bay Anchor, titled “Home is Where the Heart Is” by Artist Andy Saczynski.

The community is invited to view and enjoy photo opportunities with the first anchor and use the digital map to visit all eight.

The ceremony will recognize the 8 legacy sponsors and 8 selected artists; Bill Roberts, concrete anchor fabricator; Anchored in Freeport Committee Members; Fabrication Committee Chair Frank Berte; Anchor Pedestal Designer Dusty Hall of Brown Dog Concrete; Alan Moore of AtoZ Movers.

From 2:00pm to 5:00pm, the Annual Christmas Festival & Tree Lighting at The Windmills at Hammock Bay will include photos with Santa, a farmers’ market, and catch 12Eleven performing live on stage.
