Lake View Too

SoWal Insider
While it certainly was a sad thing to see the Seagrove Villas demolished, it really is kind of nice to catch a great panoramic view of the beautiful Gulf as I drive to work each morning.

For some of you newcomers who arrived in the 80's and 90's, you may not be aware of the fact that you use to be able to drive on, what is now called "Old 98", and just cruise along the Gulf at about 40 or 50 mph, without any obstructions to your view at all. It was pristine from Destin to Miramar (where the old Jack Tarr Motel sat) and, I believe, the only the only building south of the highway was a snackbar somewhere near where the Whale's Tale is now. It was a truly grand drive.

It is a gorgeous view, but big houses that block it will be going up soon.

That's my dream. Hopefully every house undermined by a hurricane will become a vacant lot with a gorgeous view and a couple parking spaces.

Heck, I'd settle for just having the derelict, abandoned, foreclosures demolished.
