Christofacism

Discriminating against millions of people on the basis of their religion and announcing his draconian policy on Holocaust Memorial Day!

An interesting response from Senator Chris Murphy ‘There’s another thing all seven countries involved in Trump’s Muslim ban have in common. Unlike other Muslim-majority countries like Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or Azerbaijan, Trump doesn’t have any business interests in them.’ No surprise there.

Just wondering how much Bannon and the rest of the brightfart community writes and Trump signs. Okay with him it’s all comes down to his businesses and Putin.

Trump changed the plaque on the Statue of Liberty to read,

We Don't Want You Here
Get The F**k Out!
(Does not apply to Christians because you're
the biglyist most terrific religion with the yugest
God of all. The other gods are losers. Sad.)

During the past 15 years, the U.S. has admitted 399,677 Christian refugees and 279,339 Muslim refugees, meaning that 46% of all refugees who have entered the U.S. during this time have been Christian while 32% have been Muslim.

Then what is Trump talking about saying "If you were a Muslim you could come in, but if you were a Christian, it was almost impossible and the reason that was so unfair --"? Sounds like an outright lie by the new prez. In any case, our policies in the past were not part of a coordinated effort to show favoritism toward a particular religious group. In my opinion, the numbers don't reflect it. It's a much different story when the president makes a spectacle of his favoritism and panders to his religious right Christofascist base, lying through his teeth all the way.

[Edit] I forgot to include the link:

Trump says US will prioritize Christian refugees - CNNPolitics.com

According to the article, this much is true about Syria specifically:

According to a report by the non-partisan Pew Research Center, however, 99% of the nearly 12,600 Syrians granted refugee status last year were Muslims. Less than 1% were Christian. Syria's population is 87% Muslim and 10% Christian, according to the CIA World Fact Book.

I don't see this as a reason to show favoritism toward a particular religion unless you are pandering to your base. This makes even less sense though, when you consider the fact that he is calling for an indefinite ban on refugees from Syria specifically:

Also on Friday, Trump signed an executive order explicitly freezing refugee applications from Syria. It's unclear how his pledge to help persecuted Christians from that country will accord with the order.

I really don't know what is going on in this man's head. So aside from Syria, we are back to figures like this:

The United States admitted a record number of 38,901 Muslim refugees in 2016, according to a study conducted by Pew. But nearly the same number of Christians, 37,521 were also admitted.

So now even Christian leaders think this is crap:

At the same time, many Christian groups that resettle refugees in the United States decry the persecution of their brethren overseas, but said the country should not give favor to fellow Christians or bar Muslims.

"We would resist that strongly," Scott Arbeiter, president of World Relief, the humanitarian arm of the National Association of Evangelicals and one of nine agencies that partner with the federal government to resettle refugees.

"Some of the most vulnerable people in the world right now are Muslims. If we say no Muslim should be let in, we are denying the humanity and dignity of people made in the image of God."

One thing to keep in mind is that anyone who has ever practiced Islam could conceivably be accused of apostasy. I would be willing to bet that simply practicing the wrong brand of Islam could be considered apostasy by the more radical sects.
