Even in Europe, they parse out students according to intellectual strengths and the construct provides for blue collar prosperity. A lot of parents, unfortunately, maybe when they saw a lot of manufacturing being offshored, told their kids you don't want to go into the trades, you don't want to go into manufacturing because you'll lose your job. Well, the problem is that what happened — a lot of young people no longer see the trades and skilled manufacturing as a viable career. But I promise you, folks can make a lot more, potentially, with skilled manufacturing or the trades than they might with an art history degree. Now, nothing wrong with an art history degree — I love art history. (Laughter.) So I don't want to get a bunch of emails from everybody. (Laughter.) I'm just saying you can make a really good living and have a great career without getting a four-year college education as long as you get the skills and the training that you need.

Nope, weed laws are federal, and federal law takes precedence over state. The feds can go in there and bust them any time. The only thing keeping them alive is an executive order signed by Obama that directed federal law enforcement not to enforce the federal law in this case. Marijuana continues to be a CSA Schedule one drug which means according to the DEA, it is a substance with no medical use and a high potential for abuse. Trump could undo this executive order on day one of his presidency. These are just the facts. Sorry. You can google it.

Yes and no. Drug laws are mostly federal, but states have the right to police and enforce, so while the federal law is the law...and theoretically a government agency could arrest a person in WA, CO, etc.. it is up to the state to enforce. This was contested by the Fed early on and state'so rights won.

I pay a professional to do my income tax so I can pay the absolute minimal amount allowed by law to the IRS. Probably every business owner and most individuals do the same.
If you feel it necessary to pay more than legally required, I'm ok with that.

A bit of advice for anyone comprehending moving to Canada. If you need any major surgery, get it done in the U, S, before you leave. Just returned from my 19th annual trip to Manitoba. My friend's father had to wait three painful years for a hip replacement under Canada's wonderful "free" single-payer healthcare system. He is not a fan.
