when there's no American Idol thread going in the lounge!!!

I have to admit I wasn't too excited about the new season, but thought I'd give it a whirl. Never been a big Steven Tyler/Aerosmith fan, but I did love him as a judge tonight! And, I thought Jennifer Lopez was good too. I found it rather refreshing and much more positive without Simon, although I did love me some Simon. Maybe this is the boost the show needs though. New blood. New look.
I was torn up when they put that last guy through.

I never watch American Idol. Found out just by chance that Steven Tyler would be a new judge when I rarely flipped on David Letterman the other night (I'd wanted to see Jack Hanna.)

uugghhh Baby... Steven Tyler was MESSED UP, even more than usual. He must have been back stage sniffing crushed Flintstone vitamins.

It was kinda funny when old droll Dave said "I dunno, does sniffing provide a bigger high than swallowing?" and ST replied "Ya THINK???"
Dude looks like a cobra.
I do like Aerosmith's music, tho.

Guess I'll have to pull for that last little fellow, breaks should come his way after such a hard time.I know his story could be told by many, hope someday there's a change, no child should have to live that way.

Very proud that I have never watched an episode!

Not that I don't still get bombarded with AI info - the Amish probably know about some of the contestants.

DD, I agree. We try to never miss an episode of American Idol.

I was also surprised that no one started a Golden Globes Red Carpet thread. Hubby and I were rating dresses. Amazing on the following day how many people disagreed on dresses. Some dresses were on both the best and the worst lists, depending on who was doing the critiquing.

Here's my mini Golden Globes dress thread:

American Idol

I did watch the show both nights this week. It was a little strange watching it without Simon and Paula, especially Simon even though he can be a jerk. I was not thrilled with the change, but I guess I'll get used to it eventually. I won't quit watching. Have a great evening, everyone, Brenda

My girls were watching it, so I watched a little on Wednesday night. I liked Jennifer Lopez but Tyler was a bit strange. He is so different from Simon, he will probably grow on viewers. He is just so freaky looking though. I'm sure I will see more episodes.

Better than I expected. I was not excited about the panel of judges when it was announced last year. I actually thought about kicking the Idol habit this year altogether, but I tuned in out of curiosity. As Randy would say, they worked it out. Heard some really nice voices and I think the judges will grow on me.
