Oh Aggie - good one! It was this concert (not in Japan) that I learned how to drink coffee - it was so danged cold outside! Of course, I always carry mini bottles and just happened to have Jameson, my first Irish Whiskey! Thanks for that!!!

Cheers~~~~~

Yes, with video of her recent visit and 40 Broadway show tunes on it! :D

I am loving mine, so I bet she will too. Just the thing so she can rock out while roaming Balmoral.

It should been a special gift, one that could not be bought in a store. If she wanted an iPod with that stuff on it, her staff could have bought it.

Plus, giving her an iPod was like calling her old. She is of a different generation, but they didn't have to rub it in her face, as if to be saying, "We're younger and hip. You're not. So we have to bring you into the 21st century by giving you an iPod."

And the Queen gave them a signed picture of her in a nice frame. Seems a fair trade.

I got an Ipod as a gift because a family friend somehow got a free one - does that mean I'm old or that I don't love it? :idontno:

My guess (pardon me if I am incorrect) is that you are probably like my daughter and can't afford one unless someone else buys it for you. That's not a criticism -- I didn't have any money in my 20's

On the other hand, the Queen could afford to buy one if she wanted one.

The Queen could buy ANYTHING if she really wanted it, so it's not good criteria IMO.

I could have bought an Ipod, but since I still watch VHS tapes and use dial-up, it wasn't a big priority. (And now I absolutely love it )

These gifts seemed like minor hostess gifts - that's why I don't have a problem w/ it. When I first heard Ipod I also said WTF , but they personalized it by putting footage of her on there and songs she liked. She just gave them HER picture, so I think she came out ahead. ;-)
