Wisdom Teeth Removal Post-Op Advice Please!

New posts
What I wonder is what do docs prescribe for pain now that Darvocet is forbidden? :idontno:

My surgery was about 6 years ago, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but I got percocet. Didn't help much, but I think I was a pretty extreme case--looked like a chipmunk that had been in a bar fight...

Sending sympathy and healing wishes!
Having 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed was one of the most physically painful experiences of my life.

Everyone offered good suggestions.
I underwrite keep-it-cool and NO straws / sucking of any sort; development of dry sockets is just horrible awful. My big round face morphed into a giant SQUARE.

Good Luck!

How's he doing?

I was amazed with Squirt. Prepared for the worst, but he was fine after about 48 hours. Didn't even hardly swell. Actually he was fine after 12 hours but I didn't believe him. Never seen a kid get tired of chocolate milk shakes and mac & cheese.

Better yesterday, hurting more today. Some swelling. He asked to keep his teeth (maybe he thought the Tooth Fairy would leave a lot of money for 4 teeth:lol:). Anyway, these teeth are in pieces so I am wondering if the oral surgeon took a sledge hammer to the kid!
